Guangzhou Centre for GPIPC Inaugurates

On 20 October 2020, the Green Partnership of Industrial Parks in China(GPIPC) Guangzhou Centre was officially inaugurated at the Huangpu District Guangzhou Development Zone Green Finance Project Launch and "Open Green Finance" Launching Ceremony. This is the second branch of the GPIPC to be officially inaugurated. The centre aims to build a service platform to promote the green transformation and upgrading of the region in conjunction with the launch of the green finance development strategy in the Guangzhou Development Zone and the creation of the National Development and Reform Commission's 14th Five-Year Plan Green Industry Demonstration Base and to summarise the development experience of the Guangzhou Development Zone in green finance in practice and extend it to the industrial parks in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area It will summarise in practice the development experience of the Guangzhou Development Zone in green finance and other aspects, and extend it to the industrial parks in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as well as the national economic and technological development zones across China, and strive to build a "Guangzhou model" for green and innovative development.

Director Song Yuyan of the Secretariat of GPIPC said that Guangzhou Development District is an important position in implementing the national development strategy of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and is one of the most powerful, dynamic and effective development districts in China, and was the third chairman of GPIPC Unit (2018-2019), has a sound foundation in green innovation and development. After its establishment, the Centre will serve as a comprehensive platform to promote the green development of Guangzhou's development zones, combining the practical experience of the Alliance in serving development zones in many provinces and cities across China over the years, as well as integrating the Alliance's rich channel resources in international organisations, financial institutions, innovation platforms, green enterprises, universities and colleges, etc. to provide expert think tanks, professional training, international cooperation, regional exchanges, project consultation, publicity and promotion for the green development of Guangzhou's development zones. The Alliance will also integrate its rich resources in international organisations, financial institutions, innovation platforms, green enterprises, universities and other channels to provide expert think-tanks, professional training, international cooperation, regional exchanges, project consultation, publicity and promotion services further to enhance the green development of Guangzhou Development Zone.
